WHO YOU ARE

You’ve been called a juggler, a plate-spinner of sorts, both figuratively and sometimes literally. You are an individual who prides themselves on delivering, bringing the Daxton vision to life in a way no one else could; driven to provide an unmatched experience for guests and associates alike. You enjoy and excel in the high-pressure environment to execute what is needed in exceeding our guest’s expectations. WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Greet and escort guests to rooms.
  • Inquire about guest’s last name and use during guest interaction once known.
  • Inform co-workers of guest’s name and participate in cross-departmental communication so that all important guest information is shared promptly.
  • Open doors and assist guests/visitors entering and leaving property.
  • Inform guests of property amenities, services, and hours of operation, and local areas of interest and activities.
  • Identify and explain room features to guests (e.g., use of room key, ice service, pantry areas, in-room safe, valet laundry services).
  • Transport guest luggage to and from guest rooms and/or designated bell area. Assist with luggage storage and retrieval.
  • Communicate parking procedures to guests/visitors.
  • Assist Concierge and Front Office staff with guest requests and services, as needed.
  • Serve as a departmental role model, and assist management in training, motivating and coaching employees.
  • Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures; report any maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries; complete safety training and certifications. Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional.
  • Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information; protect company assets.
  • Support all co-workers and treat them with dignity and respect. Support team to reach common goals.
  • Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance. Assist with moving, lifting, carrying, and placing of objects weighing in excess of 75 pounds. Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time or for an entire work shift. Move at a speed that is required to respond to work situations (e. g., run, walk, jog). Read and visually verify information in a variety of formats (e. g., small print). Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. Move over sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces and steps. Move up and down stairs and/or service ramps.
  • Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards. Speak with others using clear and professional language, and answer telephones using appropriate etiquette.
  • Maintain awareness of undesirable persons on property premises.
  • Keep hotel lobby in pristine conditions at all times.
  • Assist guests/visitors in and out of vehicles, including assisting guests with loading/unloading luggage.

Supply guests with directions and arrange transportation (e.g., taxicab, shuttle bus, limousine/sedan service) for guests/visitors, and record advance transportation request as needed.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

  • Passion for guest services and events
  • Must be proficient in Word, Excel and other applicable computer systems
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience as a doorman or bellman within upscale, lifestyle, or luxury hospitality company
  • Professional proficiency of the English language in reading, writing and verbal communication
  • Adaptable interpersonal communication skills to address all employee levels of the hotel
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • May be required to work varying schedules that includes, days, nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, associates may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Fluency in English both verbally and non-verbally
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time; push, pull, lift up to 50 lbs
